Q. Can you give advice to homeowners on how to find the best contractor for their project?

A. When choosing between items of comparable value, it makes sense to go for the lowest price. Why spend $3 on the same bottle of soda you can get at the Dollar Store?

However, not all things are created equal, and price doesn’t always equal value. A 40 year old crib with lead-based paint, while cheaper than a new safety-tested model, is still not a good value (or even a good idea!)

Q. What makes you stand out from other contractors in your area?

A. Unlike many of the roofers and other contractors that come and go, we've been serving the same community since 1980. Our longevity and reputation have resulted in a large portion of our business coming from referrals.

Many contractors hire unskilled or temporary workers in order to save money or because they are otherwise unable to retain quality employees. Our crew is factory trained and are all part owners of the company, so they take a personal interest in the quality and integrity of their work. We match the length of our workmanship guarantee to the length of the manufacturer's material warranty, which in most cases is 50 years.

Q. What are the most common jobs you do for your clients?

A. We specialize in residential, commercial and industrial reroofs (overlays and tear-offs). While we primarily do comp shingle roofing, we are also the only contractor in the area to offer Duro-Last, a high quality thermoplastic membrane for flat roofs.

We prefer to work directly with the property owner, as we have many material and warranty options available and tailor our proposals to meet the unique needs and preferences of each client. We don't do new construction projects, so we are able to focus solely on reroofs and therefore serve our clients in a more timely fashion.

Q. What are the most rewarding aspects of being a local contractor?

A. We serve a fairly small community where "everyone knows everyone". Word of mouth is a powerful tool and can either make or break you, especially in such a tight-knit community. We have been serving the county since 1980, and over the years have built a solid reputation which earns us a good amount of referral business. It's truly and honor to have made a client so happy that they would refer us to someone they care about.
