7 Home Decor Trends to Watch Out for in 2018

Home décor is a very dynamic concept. New ideas come and others go every year. However, for any homeowner, the goal couldn’t be clearer. Décor is designed to embellish the look of your home, make it homey, more attractive, and above all classy and elegant. In 2018, we are going to see many new trends in interior décor and in case you are thinking of remodeling your interior this year, these are the trends you should be looking out for:

  • Lavender (the color)
  • Circle patterns
  • Brass accents
  • Olive green
  • Natural elements
  • Woven textures
  • Tile twists

We still think simplicity in design and creativity will be a big priority for designers though. Nonetheless, the trends below will make a big effect in 2018. Take a look and see how you can use them to improve your interior.

Lavender

Lavender as a color will be a big part of interior décor in 2018. We have already started to see increased interest in lavender accents in homes. It is likely that in 2018 this trend will continue. Some homeowners might also complement lavender with a touch of lilac to achieve the perfect look. If you are looking to bring out those beautiful soft tones and deeper accents in your home, you can’t afford to pass on lavender.

Circle Patterns

Patterns on tiles, pillowcases, and any other accessories are a big part of interior décor. Although for many years we have always seen traditional square and triangle patterns on most accessories, 2018 will see an influx of circle patterns for interior décor. From simple pillowcases to advanced circular furniture, it will be a great trend to check out.

Brass Accents

Traditionally, we have always used brushed silver in accents to enhance interior design. This has become far too common and some designers are now moving away towards golden brass tones. It’s a great idea, to be honest.

Golden brass tones are not only warm and subtle but they offer a charming and more sophisticated option for any elegant home. Golden brass will be a perfect substitute for stainless steel and its effects on overall décor will be magical.

Olive Green

We know that green has been a big part of home decor in the last few years. However, for a while, we didn’t quite see it. Green is going to make a big comeback in 2018, but it will be a little different. Designers feel that homeowners would go for green with a shade of chartreuse and olive. If you want to live in a cozy home with a natural ambiance, this is a trend that you can’t afford to miss.

Natural Elements

There will be more emphasis on complementing homes with local geography. The use of natural elements to enhance décor will be big in 2018. The idea of using things like limestone to set a tone in your space will be a great addition. There will be a shift towards long lasting materials too. Beauty and durability balance the costs very well and many homeowners will see it as an important priority.

Woven Textures

Woven textures will play an important part in décor this year and there are a few reasons why we believe that this is a big trend to watch. For starters, woven textures offer a rustic, more natural option to accessorize with interior décor. They are also easy to buy and will go with any design that you have in your home.

Tiling is perhaps one of the few things that has remained almost the same in interior décor but in 2018 things might be a little different. Tile twists like subway tiles will make their way to your home in 2018. The use of large format tiles and the use of slab-sized porcelain sheets are also worth looking out for.

Interior décor keeps changing all the time and as a homeowner, it’s always a good idea to keep up with these changes. 2018 will be a big year for home décor and even though we are looking forward to a number of trends, the ones above are definitely great options.
