This handyman had one decent day doing very basic work, then went out of his way to short change every job thereafter. Changed the date on each occasion – showed up late, then took his time with home depot trips. In addition to windows, I asked him to install sills with granite material I already had. He stepped on the granite and broke it, but did not say anything until the day was almost done and I asked why the sills were not in place. He broke materials, actually broke the existing tile windowsills when installing the windows. Installation of those windows was awful; no stabilization but caulk oozing out all around the windows. He installed a door, and the doorknob and receptacle did not match, so the door could not be kept closed. Patched holes in fence were completely uneven. Didn’t even wipe down a wall he was asked to paint – and you could see dog hair under it. He also did terrible, sloppy work on ceiling patches. They were lumpy and ugly, and he messed up the adjacent walls with the sloppy work as well. Installed a dishwasher fitting that was the wrong size - never even checked if it matched up – told me it was working fine. No follow-up on anything to make sure he had done it correctly. He left huge messes behind after reporting that he had cleaned up. Overcharged, stating he would come back to finish - then never did. Then I found he had stolen $50 from my home. He did not respond to my inquiries for over a week, then simply replied he had been sick, but was unavailable to come by to fix the issues he created. Really poor work and unprofessional!!! DO NOT HIRE a guy of this poor integrity.

Hired Brian in January 2014, to fix an outdoor leaky ceiling, He assured me that the leak was fixed and the ceiling overhand had been replaced/repaired. Four months afterwards, we noticed cracking and the appearance of water intrusion. I called Brian Roughton and left a message. A few days after not getting a call back, I emailed him, texted him, and again left a voice-mail message to contact me. No contact. I called again a week or so later and he answered the phone. I explained the situation and he said he was on a job, but would call me back to set up a time to come by and look at the patio ceiling. Another week went by with no contact, although a few additional voice-mail message and texts were sent. My wife contacted him last week via a phone number he didn't recognize and he answered. Brian Roughton stated to my wife he would call her back in 10 minutes. We're still waiting and that was last week. I left two more voice-mails and texts to no avail! How incredibly unprofessional!!!!
