Back in February I called my home warranty company about my heating. There was not much air coming through the vents and you could feel the hot air coming out of the top of the unit in the basement. They sent this company to check it out and "FIX" it. I showed the two guys where the problem appeared to be originating. I even furnished them a stepstool to use to get up to the problem. I stayed there the whole time they were working and watched what they did. The guy on the stool said he could see the problem and it was that one of the pipes going into the top of the unit had come loose and needed to be taped. I assumed he meant putting the pipe back in and taping it into place so that it wouldn't happen again. This is the only area of the unit they worked on and their only tools was a roll of silver peel off tape and a flashlight. They left and I had plenty of air coming through the vents so I figured they took care of the problem. Step forward to the summer...home warranty no longer in effect....guests staying over...heat really bad...air conditioner on....no air in the guest room for the first time all year....I went to the basement and climbed up to see if the pipe had come lose again...the pipe was not even in the opening and the opening had been taped over! Only place on top of unit with tape...only place they had worked...when I called and talked to the boss he looked up the ticket and told me that is not what the ticket showed...his workers had written up that they had removed some insulation from the air handler that was blocking the duct. You cannot get to the air handler from the area they worked. Boss contacted them supposedly and they stuck to what ticket said. I emailed him a picture of the taped over opening and he said his workers had not done that. I did not leave while they worked (even held a flashlight for them) so I know exactly the location they worked. I paid a $100.00 deductible and the warranty company paid a little over a $100 so for about 20 minutes work, no parts except some tape they really made a killing on that call. They do not stand behind their work, they lie about what they do and they talk to you as if you are the liar and have no sense. Do NOT use this company! I let the home warranty company know what they did so they should not keep using them.
