Q. Can you give advice to homeowners on how to find the best contractor for their project?

A. Make sure they are dealing with a professional flooring company that is licensed & insured. Make sure they ask questions, references. On comparing estimates - make sure that they ask questions how many coats, the quality and grade of wood. Most companies rip of the customer. They will write install 3/4" red oak, but never mention the grade which is usually #2, worse or sometimes #1 . We quote and only use select or #1 and specify that on our estimates. We are not always the cheapest, but others can't beat the quality and we stand by our work.
