Joe's plumbing was the plumbing contractor that our general contractor used for our remodel. Let's start off by saying we love our remodel. Our GC was great. There was one sub that had issues, and it was Joe's. If anyone were to ask me I would say - "stay away" from Joe's. Nice guys but bad plumbers and business people. Here are some of our many problems: 1. During construction we asked for a quote to replace the water heater. We thought it was old and maybe it would make sense to do it during the remodel since they were on site. We were debating between a tankless system and the traditional system. Without giving us or the contractor a quote, they went ahead and installed a new water heater! They then apologized and said they would adjust the price on it. We received a much larger bill then expected for the water heater. Their discounted rate was between $1500 and $1800! I didn't really want to get into a fight at this point in our construction so I decided to live with it. We asked for a receipt from Joe's so we could at least get the rebates from Xcel Energy and the water department - still waiting and the rebates have expired. 2. We purchased a freestanding tub. My wife went to check on the installation and they were not following the plans. They had the tub going in the center of the room rather then on the side by the wall. Luckily she was home and corrected it before it was too late. 3. They drilled the tub wrong (for the fixtures) and couldn't figure out how to put the faucets on the tub. They also wanted to cut out the backside of the decorative skirt around the tub but were concerned it would not hold the weight of the water. I had to get involved and read the instructions. The first problem was drilling the holes in the wrong place. The second issue was that they were removing the feet that were clearly shown in the manual. I called the factory to confirm what I was reading. If they had removed the feet the tub would not have been able to hold the weight of the water, and so I had to spend my morning explaining to the plumber about the feet for the tub and how to install the faucet! 4. Same tub! The plumber did not properly connect the drain. (Maybe I should have read about that as well!) First time the tub was used it leaked into the room below. The plumber came back and was sure it was not the drain so he cut up the ceiling just to find it was the drain. 5. We ordered a hand held shower. The hand held part hung down in the holder. The plumber told us "that is the way it is designed." I called the manufacturer and sent them a picture, and it turned out the fittings were on upside down. I just fixed it myself. 6. The kitchen faucet was not tightened properly. The entire faucet moved when you used it. They came out and said they tightened it, but it still moved and leaked. I just called another plumber and in a few minutes the problem was solved. 7. Sprinkler back flow issue. When they replaced the water heater (that we did not authorize) they turned on the water valve that goes to our yard sprinkler, causing the valve to crack over the winter. Before we realized it was their issue they gave me a quote of $250 to replace it. Once we realized how the water got turned on I called them and they offered to replace it at no charge. Sounds good so far. Then we got a bill for $500 less discount of $250 since it was their fault bringing the total bill to $250 (not no charge). Luckily we had a good contractor who called them and they removed that bill. There were more issues but hopefully this is enough to give you a heads up! I normally don't write reviews that are bad. I know every business can have it's issues, but this was a little much. Anyone can make mistakes and have problems, but they didn't handle the problems well.. Their "customer service" credits were fake as they just marked up the bill and then gave a credit. I felt that was dishonest. They were so bad that our contractor has stopped using them.
