A. Blower Door Testing

Q. What information do you recommend customers have ready when contacting you?

A. - Project Goals - Building to any particular standard (eg. Passivhaus, LEED, etc.)
- Stages for desired testing (eg. close of envelope, post insulation, at completion, etc)
- Square footage

Q. What makes you stand out from other contractors in your area?

A. My costs are low due to no overhead and a true love for what I do. "Everyone should be able to afford a well performing home".

Q. Describe three recent jobs where you made your clients really happy

A. Last three major renovation jobs were in Olalla and all desired to get close to Passivhaus Building Standard ... but wanted to accomplish this within a VERY tight budget. They were not going for Passivhaus certification but wanted a home that performed as close to Passivhaus performance as possible within their very limited budget. This was accomplished with 4 blower door tests, 2 homeowner consultations and 3 builder/sub one hour workshops. Success! Homes perform amazing and homeowners are very happy as am I.

Q. What are the most rewarding aspects of being a local contractor?

A. Helping my neighbors build homes they can afford to operate.

Q. Can you give advice to homeowners on how to find the best contractor for their project?

A. Interview local contractors, call the homeowner of the last job they did, get their home address and trust your gut; the contractor you choose will be instrumental in the "energy" created on your site ... your family home. Do not take this task lightly, I don't.
