We were extremely unhappy with Stan Norris Builders. We hired Stan to do a roof, put on a chimney cap, and replace some support posts in our crawlspace. Stan started the roof and did not complete it before a storm came in. He quit and insisted the roof was sealed and would not leak as we knew the storm was coming. Unfortunately, when the storm got here, our roof leaked in 3 different spots throughout the house and one spot on my covered front porch. We had water inside from the 2nd floor all the way to the basement. This was Friday night. I attempted to call Stan and he would not answer my calls. When he finally returned my call about 2 hours later, he told me he would call and send someone out to my house and he would call me back. I never received a call back, and nobody showed up to fix the leak. Our roof leaked all night. They returned and finished the roof and insisted the leaks were fixed. After the roof was complete, it leaked inside and on the front porch again. After the second leak, I insisted they re-flash the leaking areas and he did this and it stopped leaking in 3 of the inside spots but it continued to leak on the porch. Stan continually told me that their insurance would take care of the extensive damage to the interior of my home and he would come by to start repairs. After 3 weeks, no work had been done on the interior of my home (remember, he fixed 3 inside leaks but I still had an active leak on my front porch where the roof was also replaced). His insurance company was a small company who hired an independent adjustor. The adjustor felt bad for how we were being treated and living in the damage with worries of mold, etc. The adjustor finally told me after about 3 weeks I should go through my own insurance company to have things fixed and they would in turn sue Stan's insurance company. This is what we did. (Remember, we still had one active leak on our front porch and he had yet to complete the crawlspace supports or fireplace chimney cap). Stan promised on numerous occasions that he would send someone out to complete the chimney cap and supports. Long story short, it took him 2 months to get these things completed after hours on the phone and numerous phone calls not answered or returned from Stan. Stan finally refused to fix the leaking roof on our covered porch and I had to hire the contractor who repaired the interior of our home to fix that problem also. I understand there may be problems during construction, however, I rate a business on how they deal with the problems when they arise. Stan Norris Builders bailed out on me when there were problems with no return calls, promises of workers showing up to complete tasks and workers never showed up, not showing up to meet with me about the problems, etc. Stan Norris is a very good salesman who says all the right things to make a person confident in him, until he has a signed contract, when he forgets who you are. The only appointments he was on time for were to do the bid and pick up his check. I would not recommend Stan Norris Builders to anyone looking for work to be completed. In fact, I wouldn't buy a picture of any construction work from Stan, let alone allow him to do anymore work on my house. My insurance company treated me great, but they are still in the process of suing his insurance company to get their money and my deductible back, as Stan Norris' insurance company claims they are not liable for my over $35,000 worth of damage.
