This contractor required us to pay $1000 down, for the job that we had agreed upon. The communication was substandard, as was the work. We had originally hired him to install tile in a bedroom, bathroom, and closet. However, he brought it to our attention that the tiles were warped, approximately 1/2-1/3 or the way through the bedroom. At that time, we began to look for more tile, and we contacted the store that we had purchased the tiles from, and they agreed to work out something, though the return date had passed for some of the flooring. At that time, the contractor told us that he would thoroughly inspect each tile, to ascertain that there were no more flawed tiles used, and his wording was, "it'll be a'ite" when we questioned many of the tiles being raised too high, one tile having a very noticeable orange stain on it. He has used up a large portion of the tiles, and we could not take them back. When asked to replace some of the tiles, he refused, stating that he had only had to bust out 3 tiles in his entire career, and he would not guarantee his work. We fired him. Upon hiring a new installer, he noted that not only were those tiles placed improperly (though some were truly warped) there was glue still under the tiles, where they had not scraped it all off. The new (honest) installer, told us that the job was only a $400 job, and that we had lost $600 on the work that this contractor had done. We are not happy with the work nor ethics of CJC Remodeling Llc, and would highly recommend that others who may be interested in hiring them, look else where.
