I have used Scott's for many tree removals, stump grinding and clean up so I did not hesitate to hire him again to take down 3 trees, do stump grinding and clean up. I paid him the price he quoted prior to the stump grinding being done. My mistake. This is a summer home. I returned to find a mess left from the stump grinding, no clean up, just huge pieces of the trees, branches everywhere and all the debris from the stump grinding. When I called Scott he told me he no longer did the stump grinding, he hires it out, he made no money on that job, thus he left me high and dry with a mess in my yard. The fact he made no money is not my concern. He should have gotten a quote from his stump grinder before quoting me his price. When I complained to him about what we agreed to he finally agreed to come out and clean it up yet he never showed. Fall came, winter came, spring came and now here is summer. You would think he would call to fix the mess but no. I would have been willing to pay him extra. I have spent weeks cleaning up the mess and still not done. It is backbreaking and I am a senior. NEVER AGAIN! I would never again recommend him to anyone and if you are thinking of hiring him, get it in writing as to what services he is providing at what price to complete the job. Otherwise there are plenty of reputable tree removal companies in the Houghton Lake and surrounding area.
