Q. What are the most common jobs you do for your clients?

A. Consultation is a popular service. I go out with photos and make recommendations and suggestions. While working with any input a client would like to make we arrive at a plan for beautifying and improving their garden.
After the consultation I purchase and plant whatever we decided upon.

Pruning overgrown gardens and weeding are services I perform frequently along with adding new plants and flowers.

Q. What information do you recommend customers have ready when contacting you?

A. If you know the approximate size of the garden it is helpful for giving general information including price. Keep your availability and budget in mind, too.

Q. What makes you stand out from other contractors in your area?

A. Clients tell me that my gardens are special and nobody else does what I do.
People remark at how responsive I am when they call and how reliable I am.

Q. Describe three recent jobs where you made your clients really happy

A. My favorite client on 7th Street calls me a garden genie. She says that I work like a superhuman. I designed and planted a very colorful flower garden in her backyard. The colors were pungent. She loved it. I planted hibiscus and other flowers in large urns, too.

On 11th Street I have a client with the unusual problem of hens. Her neighbor keeps hens and they come into her yard and dig everything up causing mass destruction. She's been my client for 8 years and this has been happening for the past three years. I use plants that that the hens don't care for to minimize their mischief. I hear that their fresh eggs are wonderful.

I work for my accountant, Harvey Kraus. He has a tree pit garden outside his office on 8th Avenue. I plant flowers and spring blooming bulbs there every year. I've coached him with the watering for the 4 or 5 years that we've had the garden and he seems very happy about his success ! The flowers are so lush ! He also liked it that I came right over and removed a large vine growing on his property.

Q. What are the most rewarding aspects of being a local contractor?

A. It's a nice way to get to know your neighbors.

Q. Can you give advice to homeowners on how to find the best contractor for their project?

A. Go to the person that you feel most comfortable with.
