6 Features for More Openness in a Bathroom

Bathroom features

You can create more physical or visual space in your bathroom by using some design tricks. And it doesn’t mean you’re gonna have to spend all your money. Just one thing here and another thing there and voilà — your bathroom looks more airy and comfortable. Check it out.

1.  LED Strip Lighting

Led strip lighting

If you can't have natural light entering your bathroom window, go for de LED artificial ones. Brighter spaces appear larger. Furthermore:

  • as the space is already small, a wall or ceiling lamp may be exaggerated, but the LED stripes match with the surface.
  • strip lighting can also be used to trick the eyes, giving the impression that there is more space behind certain furniture.

Try putting them right under a floating dressing table or behind the mirror.

2.  Floating Vanity

A floating vanity makes a bathroom look bigger because it shows almost its entire floor. If the bathroom space is really tight, a floating unit can also help with storing products. And there's more! It smoothes floor cleaning.

3.  Mirror Walls

Mirrors walls

Mirror installation is the most-known trick to get more space anywhere. At least when we talk about appearances. Mirrors reflect elements and increase light, creating a brighter look even for bathrooms.

The "aged" ones visually expand the area and put texture on the decor at the same time and solid mirror panels are commonly used wall-to-wall or floor-to-ceiling.

4.  Bathtub Replacement

Bathtub replacement

Replacing a bathtub with a shower can make your bathroom look bigger. On the other hand, a large glass-enclosed shower or similar can make the space seem larger. Think about it.

5.  Some Curves

Some curves

Have multiple entry points into your bathroom? Consider adding curved furniture to the space. This will create more comfortable paths and eliminate the danger of hitting your body while walking around, in addition to making the space more beautiful. Curves work well especially in tighter areas.

6.  Pocket Door

Pocket Door

A standard door can occupy almost 10 square feet of space when opened, so choose a pocket door instead. The one that slides on a rail, entering the wall.

If you don't need that much privacy, maybe a glass panel pocket door will work out just fine. A good idea to make the space look bigger and brighter. You might also consider a mirrored pocket door to achieve a similar effect.
